HDPE offers strong resistance to many chemicals, but no tank is suitable for every substance or operating condition. Surecraft Plastics is happy to assist our customers in evaluating the compatibility of any specific tank, however, the final suitability of any tank for a specific application must be confirmed by the customer, using the stored material, concentration, temperature, specific gravity, fittings, environmental conditions, and intended use, prior to purchase.

Tank Modifications and Custom Fabrication
When a standard pre-fabricated tank is close but not quite right, Surecraft can add selected fittings and application-specific features.* When a prebuilt tank will not work, we can fabricate a custom HDPE tank.
- Inlet and outlet fittings, flanges, and vents
- Level indicators and selected accessories
- Foam insulation, supports, and restraints where appropriate
- Open-top and closed-top custom configurations
- Custom tanks up to approximately 4 × 4 × 8 feet
- Wall thicknesses up to 1½ inches, depending on design
Custom tanks are intended for atmospheric storage and are not represented as pressure vessels. Final design depends on the application and operating requirements.

Capacities range from hundreds to tens of thousands of litres, with select models available up to approximately 62,500 litres. The available range depends on tank style and application.
Can you modify a prebuilt tank?
Yes. Depending on the tank and project, we can add fittings, flanges, vents, level indicators, insulation, supports, restraints, and other selected features. However, modifications are limited by tank type, design, and material, and may impact warranty coverage. Please contact us to discuss your project and confirm suitability.
Are potable-water tanks available?
Selected prebuilt models are available using NSF 61-listed HDPE resin for potable-water applications. Certification and suitability depend on the selected model and complete tank configuration.
Can a plastic tank store chemicals?
HDPE is resistant to many chemicals, but suitability must be confirmed for the specific substance, concentration, temperature, specific gravity, fittings, and operating conditions.
